3. LOOKING OUT FROM THE HILL
Set into the steeper slopes of the upper regions of the
site these will be north entry units with garages below.
A large covered or partially covered stoep will provide
outdoor living looking out over the lake and towards the
Outeniqua Mountains.
These will be:
• relatively private
• prime views and northern aspect
• set into the hill with the back towards the freeway
• garage and or parking under unit.
• should have very specific character and aesthetic.
• prominent timber decks and pergolas on north side.
Suggested Features:
• Natural stone or earth-tone plaster and paint walls.
• Dark “Vermont” cladding on timber frame
for upper level.
• Large glass openings to the north shaded by overhang
• Prescribed handrail, roof verge and pergola details.
